Dubai is set to establish a new era of global AI innovation next week as the UAE becomes the center stage for the world’s premier tech and start-up event. This gathering will bring together leading minds, visionary governments, and pioneering companies to redefine the AI economy and set the course for the next significant technological transformation.

This year, GITEX GLOBAL will be hosted in two prominent venues. The 43rd edition is gearing up to host 6,000 exhibitors and 180,000 tech enthusiasts from 180 nations from October 16 to 20 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

In parallel, the notable start-up event, Expand North Star, orchestrated by the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, is set to unfold from October 15 to 18 at the newly established Dubai Harbour venue.

At these events, over 1,800 start-ups will delve into the burgeoning opportunities that Dubai offers. Organized by DWTC, these two events will span across a total of 2.7 million sq. ft., marking a 40% growth from the previous year.

Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, entrusted with responsibilities related to Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, and heading the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, highlighted their collaborative efforts with AI experts to better the world. Al Olama, recognized by TIME Magazine as a pivotal figure in the AI realm in 2023, emphasized that GITEX GLOBAL serves as the platform where innovative minds converge to envision the future. He acknowledged Dubai’s global standing and stated that the event aims to underscore groundbreaking AI innovations. The increasing participation at GITEX GLOBAL underscores the UAE’s leading position in the tech domain.

The heightened global attention on the UAE has led Expand North Star to gather a record-breaking assembly of 1,000 investors from 70 countries. This focus comes as UAE businesses secured a major part of the $4 billion in start-up funding across the Middle East and North Africa in 2022.

Saeed Al Gergawi, the Vice President of the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, shared that Expand North Star epitomizes Dubai’s dedication to nurturing start-ups. He expressed excitement for the upcoming initiatives at the event, which will include significant showcases from various continents and a unique platform for tech businesses to advance in Dubai.

GITEX GLOBAL 2023 promises an unparalleled collaboration between public and private entities, with over 250 governmental bodies enhancing their future-driven digital city aspirations. The event will delve deep into AI innovations, featuring AI Everything, the year’s predominant AI solutions exhibition, and the Global DevSlam coder gathering.

Trixie LohMirmand, in charge of Events Management at the Dubai World Trade Centre, conveyed the unmatched enthusiasm surrounding GITEX GLOBAL this year. She highlighted the event’s focus on AI and its exploration of both its commercial and ethical implications.
